What Can we learn from Shri Ram Avtar’s Human Life?

For each of the Lord’s incarnation (Avtaar), there are various reasons (Hetu) and to fulfill each of the reason (Hetu) Lord takes incarnation (Avtaar) for the welfare of Lord’s devotees (Bhaktas). Baal Kand of Shri Ram Charit Manas states:
राम जनम के हेतु अनेका, परम बिचित्र एक ते एका ||
जनम एक दुई कही बखानी, सावधान सुनुसुमती भवानी ||
Shri Ram took avtar in human life and led his life within the constraints of human life, to give realistic inspiration to us human beings to be an ideal son, brother, husband, dharma-protector warrior, courageous, compassionate person and a righteous King.
Param-atma can be achieved through satsang. This is why, Maharishi Agastya narrated this katha to Bhagwan Shiv ji and Sati ji. As Swami ji says: “श्याम तुझे मिलने का सत्संग ही बहाना है”| By listening to the leela of Lord Vishnu, the mind becomes purified and get focused on the divine qualities of the Lord. To get the maximum benefit from Shri Ram katha satsang, we should listen to with shradda, submission and devotion.
Swami Ram Kamal Das Vedanti ji is from the pious city of Banaras or Varanasi. He has studied 285 versions of Ramayans, and therefore connects teachings from different passages beautifully and very logically. It is indeed a God-given opportunity to listen to divine character of Shri Ram and uplift oneself on the Bhakti platform.

Particularly for the people leaving in Kali Yuga, apart from the qualities portrayed by Shri Ram, the most important thing he followed a principle in his life is “One Man..One Wife” concept and also the selfless living of life.
The selfless living is nothing but that the humans should live with a content. Because they are going to live in this world for a shorter period of time and to dispose of their karmas.
Their main aim should they should have a goal to reach the lotus feet of God without getting bonded in the meaningless cycle of births and deaths.

We can learn so much from Rama’s life…the question is will we ??
Lord Rama’s life is about
- how should a father treat his son; how should the son treat the father;
- how should a king treat his people;
- how to pay respect to a guru
- how should brothers love each other
- how to show respect relatives, ministers…He even shows how to treat an enemy when he spares Ravana’s life and tells him to fight the next day
Rama’s life is not a story that happened 2000 years ago…It is simply to be followed by everyone in their daily lives.. Interestingly, Rama avatar happened first, followed by Krishna avatar. Rama lived his life scrupulously as a human…Krishna preached Gita as a God…So, even God knew that He can preach only what he has followed already…
